Natural remedies for upset tummies and stuffy noses
It’s hard being a parent when your kids (oops children, mine keep telling me they are not baby goats) are not feeling well. Help is at hand. Over the past couple of years I have learnt how to use essential oils to safely and effectively help my children with the symptoms of their illness, and importantly to reduce the number of pharmaceutical products we use! I rarely visit the pharmacy anymore and my hip pocket is dancing a happy dance!

Easy Air essential oil (known as Breathe in the USA) are your reasons to throw that disgusting tub of Vicks in the bin. This is an all natural product which is actually safe to put on your children. It doesn’t have toxic ingredients unlike other products we have grown up using. It contains Eucalyptus Leaf Oil, Laurel Leaf Oil, Peppermint Oil, Menthol, Melaleuca Leaf Oil, Lemon Peel Oil, Ravensara Leaf Oil and Cardamom Seed Oil.
This video explains how you can use the essential oil and the the vapour stick. It also comes in a handy rollerball, which I prefer to carry in my handbag. I use the oil in the diffuser and the stick on the children at night and before school when they are congested. Personally, as soon as I lie down at night, my nose gets blocked, so I use the rollerball and rub it underneath my nose for immediate impact.
Natural remedies for Upset tummies:
Digestion is one thing that we all know impacts our lives, but we don’t really talk about it until it’s too late and we, or our loved ones, are running to the bathroom with digestive issues. This is a product that I have personally resisted using, but my kids love. When Hamish has an upset tummy, he will specifically ask to use this and have it massaged into his tummy. He also likes it in the diffuser. Why does he like it? Because it works. (We also use it on his tummy on those days that he’s feeling anxious about school, and the anxious feelings are showing as an upset tummy- I’ll rub the oil into his belly button and he’ll be feeling back to normal by the time he goes to school. He knows now, that I know when he’s trying to stay at home, and that I will take his complaint seriously and he can stay at home if sick, but if it’s anxious feelings, then it’s best to put the oil on, and see if he wants to talk about it. Often I find it is a bit of separation anxiety).

I don’t have a partner, but if you do, and they love to relax with a beer, but it gives them the burps or flatulence, then this is the product for them. You’ll be surprised at the results. If your partner is not adventurous to take a drop in a glass of water, rub it in the soles of the feet, or convince them that a stomach massage of the oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil will provide them with instant relief.
